Police arrest drug peddler in Budgam | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Police in Budgam on Wednesday said to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances in Magam area. A police party from Police Station Magam, led by ASI Mohd Altaf, established a checkpoint at Batpora Crossing, where a vehicle (A-Star) bearing registration number JK05B-4705 was intercepted, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). During the search, charas-like substance was recovered from the vehicle’s dashboard. The driver, identified as Irfan Ahmad Dar, son of Zahoor Ahmad Dar, resident of Dar Mohallah, Pati Shalbugh, Ganderbal, was arrested on the spot. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized, police said. Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 176/2025 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Magam, and investigation is in progress—(KNO)
